Rip the Band-Aid Off Now

A preface:  America has a leadership problem, coupled with extreme views, uncompromisable by both the hard liberal loonie left and the self-righteous and ridiculous right.  Both hard left and hard right are truly uninformed and are swayed by emotion and falsehoods and neither group wants to yield an inch.

The 2024 election cycle will be a rollercoaster that makes 2020 look like a teeter-totter.

Now a preamble:  A preface:  America has a leadership problem, coupled with extreme views, uncompromisable by both the hard liberal loonie left and the self-righteous and ridiculous right.  Both hard left and hard right are truly uninformed and are swayed by emotion and falsehoods and neither group wants to yield an inch.

The 2024 election cycle will be a rollercoaster that makes 2020 look like a teeter-totter.

Now a preamble:  Joe Biden will announce he in not running for president at the SOTU this week.  There is precedent for this (Both Truman and Johnson abandoned their quest for a second full term in March).  That’s the easy part:  the whole world sees a man, Biden, of weak physical capacity and weaker mental adroitness.  Don’t drag it out.  Biden won’t campaign with vigor and his reliance on Trump being an idiot, although accurate, will be tempered by Trump’s bootlickers’ ambition.  Once Donnie secures the nomination this week he will start staying on script and work to mend bridges with those, like me, who don’t like his style… you know, just give me a better reason than “you’re not the other guy.”

But I digress.

So, this ain’t really about Joe.  It is all to do about what to do about Kamala Harris.

Retail politics requires a stump speech which can go for 3 minutes or accordion to thirty.  Kam Harris can’t hack that.  I believe she has the brain power to memorize decent stuff written for her, something, anything, eloquent and persuasive.  But she is too lazy to put the real work into it and has no respect for the people who come to hear her speak, so she just wings it, comically.

Horribly.  It is phony and plastic and makes Donnie look more genuine, and many Republicans and Undecideds (are there any left?) are yearning for the soaring rhetoric of the current puppet master, Barry Obama.

Okay, my predictions.

1.       Biden does not seek the nomination.

2.       Biden endorses Kam Harris, but the nomination votes are not his to confer, they cannot be inherited, and the delegates are free to cast votes elsewhere.  This means there is either a primary season or a brokered convention months away. And I think they want some runway here… they will want a primary season.  It will be either Gavin Newsome or Gretchen Whitmer.

3.       The REAL problem is Kam Harris.  She will run and fight and lose.  The season is required because the Democrats will want to rip that band aid off even if it bleeds for a while.  Yet she will fight like crazy and make a big stink and she will need to be brought into line… more to follow.

4.       Newsome at the top of the ticket, and either Whitmer or Michele Obama as VP. I say they go with Mickey Obama – no, I am not on a bandwagon here – I wrote about this two years ago and a woman of color will be the only alternative, in essence a third Obama administration.  If the Dems don’t do this, Trump can campaign from HIS basement, if there is one in Mar a Lago.  I can hear Hillary screaming now…

5.       How does Kam Harris walk away from the big prize of US History and appear supportive?  Her actual achievements would pale next to being the first of the first as the first story.  So Biden gives the presidency to her, on a platter – after the election in November.  Biden by then resigns for health reasons.  She becomes president, though only for two months. The box is checked as first of the first as the first, #47. She gets to pardon the whole Biden family in the process.  And all Donnie’s #45 and #47 balloons would have to be reprinted…

6.       The far payoff:  Trump wins and Kam Harris is a footnote but can try in ’28.  She may overcome her awful retail politics footing.  But if Kam Harris or Gavin Newsome lose in November, Gretchen Whitmer is the DeSantis tough gal candidate for ’28.  There are others to take the blue mantel into ’28, all perhaps restoring some gravitas to the job.  Not really, though.  I think Gretch is awful, but not crazy on the surface or incompetent underneath it.

7.       Trump loses.  This is likely for many reasons and this thought process is why the blue team has been so cavalier and unserious about their own nominee.  And here is Kam Harris’ REAL payoff in a Gavin Newbie administration.  Kam Harris is a USSC justice at the first opportunity.  The Republicans wouldn’t fight it, heck, they don’t fight anyone except themselves. Thank the Lord she couldn’t be elevated to the Chief Justice job unless Roberts resigns, dies, or is impeached. (Ahem.  Stranger things have happened.)

The only way Kam Harris smiles through a campaign season that shut her out is being given the “queen for a day” crown as #47 and a future draft pick as a USSC justice.

She’ll take the deal.

Pray for Eretz Israel.

Peace. Out.
